Grant+Henley Design Group specializes in custom residential design and boutique scale commercial projects. Our group is driven by a belief in possibilities and a passion for creating spatial experiences that inspire and nurture our client’s lives. We focus on our client’s words and dreams and then on the details - from the foundation to the door handles and everything in-between. Our more than 30 years of experience in the field of architecture and interior design offer a wealth of experience and design sensibility that is both progressive and grounded to meet your unique design needs.

Jason is an established, award winning, Ottawa designer with Bachelor and Masters Degrees in Architecture from Carleton University. He is a collaborative, detail-oriented designer and manager with thirty years of experience in diverse areas of the design and construction industry. Jason is a skilled listener adept at understanding clients’ needs and conveying those needs with originality, clarity, and enthusiasm throughout the design process. His open, easy-going nature and desire to exceed expectations has earned him respect from clients and colleagues alike.

Chloe is a graduate with an Architecture Technician Diploma from Algonquin College as well as a Bachelor of Arts Degree (Philosophy Major) from the University of Guelph. She has a strong passion for green architecture, sustainability, and accessibility. Her love of anything computer related has kept her on the cutting-edge of new technology, and she utilizes this to come up with new and creative ways to display innovative architectural designs and 3D Modelling. She is a dedicated worker who is able to go with the flow and explore exciting new ideas.

Tracy Bacenas
Marketing & Interiors
Tracy is first and foremost a storyteller. She is an award-winning film and television editor with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from the University of Georgia. Tracy also completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts at Emily Carr University of Art & Design, where she honed her visual concept development skills in fine arts. She brings these two skillsets to the table when collaborating with Jason to source unique materials and products that refine our clients' spatial experiences through light, colour, and texture. Whether your story calls for bold impact or ethereal minimalism, Tracy can help you put the pieces together.
Bella Boo-Shakes

Bella is the member of our team most devoted to her job. She tirelessly and relentlessly pursues testing and re-testing of any and all snack materials she can get her snout on in order to bring the highest quality products to our office. Bella holds a graduate degree in Promotion of Happiness in Humans and is an expert in trail bumbling and forest bathing. Snack du jour: cheese tea biscuits.

How We Work
We begin by listening. To you. We listen to your ideas, needs and goals for your project. We ask a lot of questions. We take a lot of notes. We get to know you and understand what you need to achieve for your family and your work in the design of your project.
Then we translate what we have heard into concepts for design. In this phase, we move from listening to dialog as we work fluidly with you to develop a design concept that translates your dream into reality. Our goal is to exceed expectations.
With the design in place and the imagined project expressed on paper, we move from concept into the technical phase of the project during which all the details are nailed down and produced in drawings that are ready for construction.
For some clients, our job ends here, with plans complete and ready to build. For other clients, we manage the project and see the construction through to the end. Either way, our goal is to create a seamless transition into construction phase with well-planned, thoughtful designs.
